Quick Radiator Cleanup!!!
First, I got my compressor and started blowing the ac cooler from under the front grill. I really blew it out methodically section by section. All sorts of stuff was flying around- wear a mask and goggles. Then I blew from the passenger side access hole in the shroud. I could still see it was furry or had some kind of nasty growth on the front of the radiator between the ac cooler. I couldnt get at it with air. I started thinking, and reached for my home ac coil fridge coil cleaner. It was perfect! I was able to clean the front of the radiator, back of AC cooler, front of ac cooler. I got the fur out! Dont ask me how that crap gets in there! then I blew it out again with more air. I did a flush just for added effect. Tomorrow, I will see if it runs cooler in the traffic on the way to work. I bet this could be a good maintenence tip to do every 6 months to keep it clean for those of you that have already cleaned it.
Some have warned that using high pressure (water/air) can damage the heat exchangers...
I have used water with good success though..:)
