Default Magnetic drain plug

Silly question, Part# for LT4 magnetic drain plug. Want it for more of a diagnostic purposes.
Or is a GM drain plug generic for all small blocks?

Asking cause i called chevy to get some other parts and the parts guy said it must be special cause the LT4 listed a totally different part# than everything else. For a plain old standard plug. So, I have a hard time believing that, but thought i would ask before i stopped and bought some parts on the way home. Have a hard time believing its not just a plain old gm small block plug.

Ok now I get it. You are looking for the LT4 oil plug part number. Yes, it is different that the 92-95 LT1. Why? I dont know.

How do I know this? My 92 and 95 had a 14mm oil drain plug but my LT4 is a 15mm.

LT4 Oil plug part number:

Plug, Oil Pan Drain: 10017615

Gasket, Oil Pan Drain Plug: 1409008

Looks like that is a M12X1.75.

Which should be available at Autozone.

Yep, stopped at advanced auto on the way home lastnight, and they listed 2 plugs. one was a 1/2 x 20, and one was a metric 12 x 1.75. Called Orielly's, they listed the same two also. Both parts guys were like what the f***? So i bought both. Why ther are two listed? Who knows, maybe there is a second drain plug i'm not aware of.

Though, I think the magnets on the drain plugs at the parts store are rather weak. They are weaker than my magnetic extension pick up tool.

You might want to look at Goldplug.com. Since your's is an odd ball, you'd have to give them your drain plug spec of M12x1.75. On their site, it shows the drain plug holding up a large adjustable wrench. The plugs from the parts store that I've had could only pick up a small socket.

I'm going through this right now with GoldPlug. They had the 1/2X20 listed for my '96 but mine is smaller so they're sending me a M12X1.75. S**t! I had to find that info for them. They had no idea!
