Freeze plug replacement on 1988
The drivers side freeze plug is leaking on my 88 I just bought. Can anyone give me an idea of the reasonable labor expense for this? Engine has 136K miles.

A complete freeze plug kit is $15 or less, so $25 in parts and fluid should get you by. Labor is free if you do it yourself, or shop rate times book time allowance for that individual freeze plug. If it rotted out, this is the beginning a of the end for the rest of them, and I recommend changing the other plug on the same side of the block while there.

Freeze plugs are easy, pop out the old one, tap in the new one. I use a long socket or a piece of pipe that will just fit inside the plug face, put some high temp sealer around the outside, then tap it in until its flush with the block.Easy as falling off a rock..
