Hey how hard is it to replace the slave cylinder to clutch on an 89 corvette, never done this before and was looking to save some money if it is not that hard. Mechanic told me he thought it was the slave cylinder, the clutch engages way to fast and the pedal makes a squeeking noise and is not very consistent. Any help appreciated, thanks.
An average mechanic can do it. There are numerous threads here on how to bleed it. I can be a bit tricky as they put the bleeder on the bottom. Go figure!

I think the average backyard mechanic can do it too. If you understand how to bleed brakes, you can do it. In some ways, should be easier than brakes.
There are a couple of good threads posted this year. Look for "Slave cylinder" in the title and see if you can find them. The best one was posted in C4General with lots of pics.
I was afraid of this task...but once I got the car up in the air for the first time.....I saw that the thing was right there....two 15 mm bolts hold it in place....you'll need a swivel and an extension for your socket set......that is all.
Engages way too fast.....hrmmm...you mean the pedal is working too good? As soon as you push the pedal a few inches the clutch slips??
Does your clutch slip in 4th or in your case 6th on the highway??

When he's talking about engaging, that refers to how much travel is necessary as the pedal is released from the floor! When you press the clutch, it DISENGAGES.
Reduced travel up from the floor would imply the system has air, or is going bad, or both.
Yes if it is engaging when your pedal is close to the floor....that is bad....but I wouldn't blame the slave as much as a worn clutch....
On these cars (C4 hydraulic clutch systems)......worn clutches will behave a little differently......these cars (manual equipped) are notorious for slave cylinder problems and when they go out, they leak fluid, causing air pockets, and the most common symptom is the "quick grap" of the clutch with a very short travel of the clutch pedal from the floor.....very short travel!......if the master cylinder has little or no fluid, if you fill it up, pump the clutch pedal until you have a clutch pedal again, then it is OK for a while, then you have a bad slave......only a short window bofore there is no clutch at all! been there done that recently!

exactly thats what is up, the so called "quick grab" it grabs way to quick when easing off the clutch pedal
Not sure if this is the right place to post this, but my clutch pedal keeps sticking,I've changed the fluid twice and it helped, but now it sticks every time i drive the car...any ideas ? slave cylinder ?
