Default Cold air intake... worth it?

I have heard that Cold air intakes on LT1s does not improve anything, meaning performance and even that you do not hear a difference. Is this true?

If its a true cold air system, which most really arent, then it'll help but the amount is up for debate. In my opinion they aren't worth the expense and the HP claims are bogus.

How about slightly cooler air.

IMHO. Not worth it and no one sells a good one.

The only one I have ever seen that I would consider was the one that used the front license area as the intake. I don't think it is made anymore.

The "so called" SLP cold air induction system...

Little if any increase in anything...just a good look. Save your money.
Purchased mine on fleabay.com used for $125.00.

I had a really good one that was rare, but since they are not available anymore, and I already cut a hole in my radiator shroud, I would use the above, or cut open the back of the air box, and cover the front, so it gets air from the back.

If I could find the above for $125, I would do that, though.

I must answer "no" or "zero" difference in sound or performance....but I went from a K&N cut lid to the above.

That's certainly debatable

I could go on and on about the flaws in that pieces design. I'd look at other options.
