Default No Cranking 1990 auto

Right now my starter is not getting any juice. I turn the key, and all the dash lights go out, and nothing happens.

I have done these things to the car that may have affected it since it last started:
-removed smog(taped up connectors)
-removed a/c
-added headers(had to disconnect starter) Probable cause
-changed intake
-plug wires

I am assuming that I need to check my connections on the starter again, but I am also wondering if the a/c had anything to do with it.

Do I need to do anything with the a/c plugs other than tape them or cap them?

any thoughts or guess would help.

Thanks

stupid question but what is the battery voltage and are the cables tight and clean? the lights all dropping out makes me think something is not tight.

Another possibility, I suppose, but should be fine. the batt is new and strong, I might have to think about the ground cable connection.

I think I can get it, I just tightened the ground, and hooked up the charger, and I got it to crank for a second, I will let it charge up, and try later.

OK, it turns over fine now.

thanks

anyone know about the a/c plug now?

I think you will have to tie though the fan wiring.

Did you attach the ground wire from the ac harness (attached to frame rail) and a fuse in the fuse box (ac).

No, but I guess that is the step I am looking for. i know another member told me a long time ago on his 86' he had to do some work with the a/c wire harness to keep some stuff working.

Thanks.

Dash lights normally go out during cranking and come back on in run.

Yeah everything is fine, I just have to figure out the a/c stuff. The car cranks, and the lights function properly also.

yes but there is a noticeable difference between the lights blinking when the starter is turning and having a loose cable and the starter not turning.
