What kind of mods can I do to my LT1 after installation to get more power besides the usual porting and polishing of heads and heavily camming it. I know other than different pistons and/or heads, there's not much you can do, but are there aftermarket intakes available for the LT1?
I thought I'd come straight to the professionals for this question :D
BTW, I LOVE your guys cars, each year vette is beautiful.
The stock LT-1 intake flows very well, other then some port matching, little needs to be done to it... you would get your most power out of heads and cam. If you want to go a cheaper route, some 1.6 roller rockers work well.
Seriously, stock LT1 will be beyond the control limits of your Fiero. Spend your money on traction aiding mods and put your front tires in the air
I totally forgot who makes the head. There is a car by the name of Hoover that has these heads. I'm not sure if it's Trick Flow or what. His car is on the Top Vette 100 page that I can't find.

Well yeah, but I just want some basic info on what's available for the LT1. I guess the concensus is that it's badass enough as it is. Glad to hear that. About the tires in the air, too much traction is a bad thing with Fieros, clutches and trannies aren't available that can handle that hard of hookups, I probably will get my tires up as it is if I hook even a little bit, but I don't want to be going through trannies. There's also scattershield issues, we're trying to work something out so that I don't get clutch pieces in my spine when or if I blow one. The heads on my motor are ported and my mechanic is swapping in a cam and he says I should be making about 400HP at the crank. I think that's enough, who knows, later I may want more. Maybe nitrous? who knows.
If I were you, i'd put a nice cam in it, roller rockers, and headers. That's about it. Like you said, you are going to end up ripping things up with too much in that car. Spend the rest of your $ on your rear end and keep some saved for your tranny. The LT1 is an excellent engine in my opinion. Only better thing for my car would be an LS1, LT5, viper V10, W12, or something more exotic. I'm very happy with it.
If I were you, i'd put a nice cam in it, roller rockers, and headers....
What are the best tightest fitting headers available for the LT1, I'm talkin some SERIOUS block hugging headers! There's not too much room to play with in the Fiero engine bay with a V8 in it.
I doubt anything that is made for normal applications will fit in your car! Like you said there is not room. Fortunately for you there are some companys who make headers at your specs. but there cost major $$$$. I know not what you want to hear but..... :hat
