This looks like the place to ask this.....I've got a Super Ram plenum so it sounds like a wet system would be likely to "puddle". OK, not good! I recently saw an ad for a system that has an "insert" that fits between the inj. and the intake manifold; it injects x-tra fuel and the nitrous. Sorry I can't remember the name of it or who makes it, and it'd take me a while to dig thru my pile of car mags..... Any input on this system-good, bad, or otherwise???? Thanks for any info. BTW-big ditto on the need for a wideband! I popped the $700.00 for the FJO on a gp and don't know how I ever did without it before!

I looked into that system also. Looks nice. It's called the NOSzle system and guess who makes it. I wanted info on an LT1/4 kit since the make specific kits for mustangs. No kits made just for LT1/4 and no plans to develop one. They said I could use the "universal" 8 cylinder kit but they didn't know if it would fit or not since they had never tried it. And I could try for only $1700. Heckova deal but I passed on it. I guess Holley/NOS doesn't consider us a big enough niche market. Maybe if I drove a civik.... :nono: damn what was I thinking?

I've been interested in developing an annular discharge plate for the LT5 for a long time. the machining is difficult but it's similar in principle to what NOS did for carbs with the 4 hole plate they released recently. I would only want nitrous/fuel to 8 of the primary holes as this would provide PLENTY, it's the superior fuel distribution I'm after.

I would also recommend a separate "distribution" block with separate lines braided lines for feeding the plate at 8 locations rather than a long feed tube or channel machined in the plate. I've heard of nitrous/fuel pressure variation problems on the long "tube style" systems on ford lower intakes.

do you guys have any experience with how the 4 hole nitrous annular discharge plate is designed from NOS??? do you think the would entertain a project like this??

I'm also very interested in their "under the injector" NOSzle annual distcharge systems, but not sure that there is enough clearance on the LT5 upper intake, again, some machining or a plenum spacer plat might be needed. I would imagine that 16 of those little sucker would cost a bundle but provide some pretty awesome power!!! I'm looking to do a 200 system on an LT5 running on 104 octane unleaded race gas, cut back to 125 hp on pump gas for some street fun. also interested in any advice you have on progressive nitrous throttle position activation to bring the nitrous on a bit more gradually.

the vette has some weak spindles and half shaft that I don't like to splatter.

I don't know Mike Thermos but if you guys have a good relationship I would like to talk seriously about this.

thanks very much for this very informative thread. cya. :p: :D

The clearances between the fuel injectors and the plenum runners/box _may_ be too tight to increase the height of the injector assembly any. This based on my recient experience with working with the superram, it's tight enough trying to get the plugs on and off the injectors _now_.

Actually SuperRams don't have any puddling problems...I went 10.80 at 128 on a 125 shot on my old SuperRam equipped 383. BUT, the really cool way to do a SuperRam (or a standard TPI for that matter) is a Fogger system plumbed into the runners. I've seen the new NOS Fogger Injectors thingies...They look pretty cool, but Dayum they're expensive!! I've also done an 'under manifold' system on a MiniRam and have looked at doing one through the EGR passage in a TPI base but I don't know what it would require. We've got a pretty decent relationship with NOS but I don't know what they'd be willing to do now that they are part of the huge Holley conglomerate. After I get finished with this motor I'm building I'm going to really start looking into building the ZR1 plate...Bear with me as I have more than one job, too... If I could afford to quit the real estate biz I'd love to, but it pays for all of my toys (not to mention my bills and the fact I've got my first kid on the way). I totally agree on the use of the primary tubes only on the LT5, RatRacer and I discussed that privately. As for the annular discharge, I haven't looked at one in a while but it would be pretty easy with the application of some EDM work (Electro Discharge Machining), unfortunately I don't have easy access to that equipment. But I've got some connections in the firearms business (porting work) that may come in handy on something like that. I'll keep everyone updated...

enhance,

If the injectors suddenly locked or such, that would mean fuel pressure would be 0 and hence the FPSS would kill the N2O, right?
Also some FPSS are ajustable, so say I set it at 60 or 70psi so the N20 will cut if it drops, problem solved.
If the injectors locked closed, your pressure would remain constant as to where the fuel pressure regulator was set for. This is bad news as a pressure safety device would not see this.

Plus, you can't just set your regulator to 60-70 and expect the car to run worth a hoot when you are not running Nitrous. The systems just don't work that way.

Lot of good info on this post ... some of it I just scanned so I hope these have not already been addressed.

FWIW, I think the wet kits are the best for the casual user. I run the NX kit.
