Default Where is the Service Parts Identification Label on 87 Vert

Can't find this anywhere.

I am trying to determine what my diff ratio is. It is apparantly on this label as one of the Regular Production Options (RPOs).

If your talking about the centre console lid / compartment between the drivers and passenger seat then its definitely not there. Maybe its been removed!

Jack rear of car ,mark driveshaft ,rotate wheel one full turn ; count number of times DS turns
In '87 only have 2.59 and 3.07 ratios so not hard to work out which one

So both rear wheels off the ground, transmission in neutral, park brake off. I am a bit worried the car will move without any brakes on. Is chocking the front wheels good enough?

chocking the wheels should be fine. or you can set the cruise control at and note your speed and rpms and plug that in with your tire size in one of the 9 million gear ratio calcs on the internet. good excuse for a drive

Thats not a bad idea either. Why didn't they just stamp it on the diff like other cars I know?

Set the cruise at 70 MPH
If it turns 2000 rpm, it is 3:07 gears
If it turns about 1700 rpm's, it is 2:59 gears.

Except for the verts that had 2:77's, those were the only 2 gearsets available in a c4 auto car.

From my datalogging info for 60 mph my engine rpm is 2250. In 3rd gear (1:1) that tells me I have 2.73 final gears. Can anyone confirm that?
