Do a search, if you find anything good about the Hypertech chip I'll be amazed. Your stock chip is fine unless you do a bunch of mods and then you need to contact a tuner for a custom chip. Save your money.

Nothing good to say about them. You would be better off spending the money on a custom tune...WW
I picked one up supercheap on ebay with the thermostat included, the main reason I wanted it was to have the Vette running cooler, if nothing else it's good for that!

You can have your stock chip reprogrammed for $60 that's $100 difference.

Yeah,,,except for minor changes like fan settings, the actual performance parameters of their chips is suspect. Seems like someone on this forum read in the parameters on one of their chips and compared it to the stock values. Nothing significant was changed. At the most, I'm thinking they bumped the timing a bit -- but the Vette's chips are already VERY aggressive in the timing area (especially compared to F-bodies).
When people do some serious mods, timing often has to be backed off from the original programming values. (That has alot to do with aftermarket flame speed vs stock head performance.)

I have two computers for my 92
The original computer has a hypertech chip in it
The spare does not.
ONLY difference between the way the car runs is when the fans come on. I've got to datalog it with the mods I have and get a real chip burned for it.
Or you can buy a lower temp fan switch for even cheaper than that
Do you happen to have a part # and/or where I can buy the lower temp fan switch? That is really all I want is for the fans to come on before the melting point.
