i recently did a cam swap. I have a new waterpump, new 160 thermostate. also flushed radiator, cleaned out fins. Fans are on manual swtich so both running off of key on.
Car will run about 30min at about 205, i turn the AC on and the temp will climb one degree at a time until i turn the car off...i watched and went all the wayo to 240 and i shut car off.
what else can i do? is a real pain to be scared to turn on the AC.

Don't your fans turn on automatically when you turn on the AC?

Well 240 isn't "overheat"
You may need to go to better fans or new radiator. Even though you cleaned the old one it may have enough crud to not transfer enough heat. Consider a dewits, on my 92 I rarely see 220 after a 30 min track session (lot of time right near the rev limiter)
Something I just thought of - did you clean the AC condenser as well? Since it sits in front of the radiator it could be blocking air flow.
Sorry...I'm scratching my head....no reason for just doing a cam swap to make it overheat.Might get your Radiator Rodded out...Might have some restrictions that your flushing couldn't help. That's all I can think of.Radiator Eficiency less than 100%.

ok so i think i just got some helpful info...both fans are supposed to blow the same and i have one that blow hard and the other i could get more air from my mouth! so im thinking maybe thats my problem.
My 96 has always had issues when sitting in traffic from the day I bought it.
I have replaced everything at least once and currently; everything in the engine bay is new and I still have the same issue. No problem when driving just sitting. Here is the list
New fans
New radiator
New hoses
New thermostat, programmed to turn on early
Bleeded the system and made sure both fans are turning on
No trash in front of the radiator
Put in water wetter
New water pump
Before I supercharged it, I had a BeCool radiator in it and still didn't make a difference.
I have spoken to anyone that is willing to listen and decided that my car is just one of those odd occurrences.
Other than that, car runs great. Also, let me qualify this; the car only gets hot on days where the tempurature is above 85 degrees.
well going to pick up new radiator in the morning...thats all there is left. And it doesnt matter if car is going down the interstate...it still slowly climbs up in temp.
Saw a car in the shop and the guy put a new WP on and the car was overheating, well I was in the shop when the mechanic told the guy that half of the opening on one side was blocked by sealant.
