Default Help with Part location

This is a long shot sense I can't figure how to post a pic.
These are remaining from my engine build and I can't figure out what or where they go.
I have two small pieces of rectangular sheetmetal with the corners bent in a 45* angle and two bolt holes on them. They look like heat shields of some sort and the only bolt pattern the two holes allign with are the oil pan bolts. there is one for each side of the motor. ANY GUESSES? :o

Could it be the shield over the knock sensor that is located on the passengers side of the block in front of the starter.

i'm with John Marker and JackDidley on the knock sensor heat shield, and wiring loom bracket. other than that, i'm stumped, and it would be helpful to know what year corvette you're talking about. pics would be most useful.

i'm not a computer guy, but to post a pic, download your picture to something like a photobucket account. then use the little picture icon above, and cut and paste the photo link to the pop-up window, or cut and paste directly in the text with "" rear of the pasted link. i don't know if that's the best way, but that's how i do it.

They are the shields that bolt on the oil pan, when I took my old 350 out to put in my new motor there was one on each side of the oil pan, they go on with the 45 degree angle going up. When I put my new motor in I didn't put them back on and have had no problems, but the one on the passenger side would protect the knock sensor and wiring.....WW

I think you guys are correct but it would make more sense if the pan bolts that are studed with nuts were in the same location to bolt these to. I put the studs for the pan in the locations the manual called for? A gentleman was nice enough to help me post some pics so some time today I will have pictures, thanks.
