Default Computer good or bad?

I have a 1994 corvette 6 speed. When you jump across the pins under the dash to make it display the trouble codes it shows 4 history codes. TPS, Mass air flow, Map, and idle air control valve. When I try to hook up a Snap-On obd, obd2 scanner it say data link not available....like it cant talk to the computer. Has anyone ran into this?

The car is not OBDII so the scanner can not read the data stream. The car is actually a OBD1 system with and OBDII plug, find the correct plug for the OBD1 scanner and it will work on the car.

Thanks for writing back. The scanner I was using had the obd2 plug on it and the module for GM obd1. Does anyone have any ideas?

The following has happened to me a few times, when connecting a scanner to my vette, it did the same thing "vehicle not responding".
What I did was simply turn off the scanner, remove- and put back in the batteries, and try again to connect to the vettes computer, wich worked.
Be sure you follow the right order when you connect a scanner to the computer in the car, it´s computers connecting to computers, we all know what that means.
Another thing you might want to look at, is the (female) pins in the ALDL (cars port) to see if they are not pushed back in the connector, there is a possibility that the scanner´s and the ALDL´s pins don´t "mate".
Not a lot of place to work, but I managed to hold the A pin (OBD I connector) on the back side of the connector so it wouldn´t push in.
You will probably be working with pin 4 and 12, I guess.
Happened to me as well.
