Every couple of weeks, my 91 L98 will take a notion to stall as soon as I put the clutch in. Idle immediatly drops and then shuts down (even on the highway) Next time I take it out, it will run fine. It seems to run a little rough during these episodes, but just a little, if at all.
I've done the injector cleaner gas treatment, it still does it. It has 60000 miles, but has never had any problems up to this point. I only drive it once a week for about 75 miles. Where do I start? any ideas would be appreciated. I'd take it to a mechanic but if it ain't broke at the time, I don't figure they can find it.
Had a similar problem. I would start elimanting Possible reasons for this; make sure your throttle body is totally clean, clean the pintle or replace the IAC (Idle air control).l and you might send an emal to Alvin at pcmforless. Alvin is pretty knowledgeable about such things, he can probably get to the source of the problem. GOOD LUCK!
I would check for air leaks and then see what the IAC count is without any accessories on. It should be around 15-20 counts. If it is higher, open the TB more by turning the set screw. Less, close the set screw. Each time you adjust the set screw, rev it up and see where it settles and then readjust if necessary. After that, check the TPS values.
