Not sure the quantity but you don't have to use Dexron II, in fact you would have a hard time finding it since they haven't made it since 1994. Dexron is backwards compatible for transmissions so you can use Dexron III or VI (likely) for your transmission

refill overdrive transmission fluid
I want to change the fluid of the overdrive unit.
Maybe this is a stupid question - but I'm not sure how to refill the transmission fluid
My repair manual says: "fill the... to the bottom of the plug hole in the left side of the unit."
Does that mean I fill in the new oil into the oil pan before I attach the pan again? Is there a mark inside the pan? (plug hole)
I've never done this before. Thanks for your help
