Code 72
OK- so I fixed my exhaust problem which was causing an SES light and
a code 44. So now, once again, I am getting another SES with a code 72- "serial data link error". What does it mean? I have no current performance issues.

Went back into the cookbook, found Code 72 in the ABS/ASR chapter. You're right, it's "Serial Data Link Fault". There is a diagnostic procedure, but it calls for a Tech I or II and a breakout box, both pricey items. However, it also says that if you have a Code 72 along with Code 41 from the CCM, it is likely a short to ground or to voltage on the Serial Data circuit. If you have Code 72 only, an open circuit between the EBCM and the CCM. You really need wiring diagrams to troubleshoot this.
