Temperature gauges acting up
Hi,
My oil temp gauge has not worked since I bought my car. It only rises about 5% of the scale. I changed the oil temp sender but no help.
Also my water temp gauge suddenly desided not to rise to normal operating temperature anymore but only half way. However, if I get stuck during a rush hour the temp gauge rises to near the red line and stops there when the fan kicks in like it should. I changed the termostat but it didn't help.
I checked my car with a AutoXray scanner and it displayed normal temperatures so only the analogue gauges indicate wrong temps.
Any ideas what could be causing this? Is the gauge unit or ECM going bad or what?
