I bought a new compressor, dryer and tube for my car and I will install these parts tonight then take it to get charged. Is there anything I should know or do? This is just a strait parts changing correct? Someone said something about putting oil on the o-ring seals?
Pretty straight forward R&R. Removing the old orifice tube will be the most difficult. They are wedged in the tube and don't usually pop out with a pair of needle nose pliers. Yes, oil the "O"rings prior to install. After removing old parts, cover line openeings with baggie and rubber band to keep out as much moisture as possable. Unplug/uncap the new parts just prior to install. Measure the amount of oil that drains from the dryer and compressor, as you want the AC shop to replenish the same amount. Ask them to run vacumm on system for at least 45minutes, an hour would be ideal.
PS... if your old compressor seized and/or you find a bunch of aluminum particles in the orifice tube mesh, I would recommend that you have the AC system flushed
