Default Vortex rammer

Anyone have any experience with the vortex rammer cold air system for the C4??? I am kinda curious about it. Any gains??? Is it worthwhile to install?? I'm just looking for some feedback about the system. Thanks!!!

Although I feel that there is still room for improvement ~ considerable improvements have been made in the Rammer. I just installed the latest version on my 92 Coupe and my overall impression is this:

Overpriced for the amount of materials and engineering
Easy to mis-align if not careful
Don't like the way the clamp is made from duct to filter
Looks OK, but difficult to achieve hood to duct clearance
Performance improvement ~ yes, but can't quantify

Now, that said, I would like to know why no effort has been made to design a system that wishbones "Y" or Tees "T" at the TB, then wraps around the radiator from the sides ~~~ or even drops beside the radiator and picks up clean air from another point in the front of the car.

Just bought one, unused second hand. I will put it in next week and let you know how things work out.

Hey Captain,
Don't be mislead into believing that the centerline of the engine is exacly in line with the radiator centerline. On my 92 LT1 Coupe, the engine centerline is off toward the passenger side by close to an inch. Get over you engine, then look forward toward the radiator and find the exect centerline ~ before you cut the shroud.

Also, cutting the shroud is a bitch. That ***** is thick. I used a dremel tool with a rotary rasp. I also used it to bore the holes for the bolts. My buddy has a C5 and he used a rotary cutoff wheel, but his shroud is made of different material and is not as thick.

I chose to go with the set up in my sig, its VERY solid, and helped out with gas mileage and a little on top end, I'll have some 1/4 mile times as soon as the track opens back up
