Well, I just ordered a Dual Friction clutch setup and T/O bearing from Centerforce. It kind of sucks spending money on parts that don't even see daylight. :)
Off to go find headers (again)............

Good choice for a clutch. The one in My GT took numerous beatings and never whimpered(Over 20 passes in the 1.59 60' zone). Pedal feel was a little firmer than stock..but it never chattered. Sorry about the size...but notice the left wheel off the ground? :D Centerforce D/F!

Hah... I wish I could wheelie this sucker.
The centerforce will be nice. That thing was dumped anywhere from 4000 up to 5900! I thought the rear was going to come through the floor on that one!

Oh boy, I hope she gets here soon. The tranny is getting much worse. :( 1st gear is basically completely useless now.
I am beginning to think all of Curtis' bad luck is moving north east....

Re: (bogus)
Hope you have good luck with the clutch, i've heard nothing but horrible remarks on the centerforce in an LT1 car. The design was supposedly changed, maybe that fixed the problems. How much was the clutch if you don't mind me asking? More that $400?

Good choice, little bit of extra money, but you'll get more mileage out of it.
I have this one for my 1995 Nissan Maxima 5speed (lightly modded) and it has taken regular beatings from heck for the last 3 years and 40,000 miles. I am talking missed shifts, and let the clutch out at 7000 RPM on accident, (oops).
It works fine now, although like anything else is not nearly as crisp as when new. I am sure had I had a stock replacement that I would be on a new clutch by now....

I put on in a 90 Nissan 300ZX TT and the thing didn't last a summer I would never want to install anther on in a car again.

Well I don't know what happened to you but maybe you got your finger prints on the clutch surface or didn't do the proper break in. All I know is everyone from Corvette World (formerly Corvette's of Dallas) use em to great effect. Plus I just had a Dual Friction installed today, hehehe, and hopefully I will continue the great history of this clutch.

Scorp,
I put one in last year...NICE CLUTCH!!! I hope you plan on changing your flywheel too (GM reccomends that you DO NOT turn a Corvette flywheel; I don't know why, I just took their suggestion!). I also went from the stock brass pilot bushing to a roller bearing style pilot bearing.
Swapping clutches in these cars does suck, especially trying to get the driveshaft tunnel support beam in and out. But once you're all done, you'll be extremely pleased...no more high RPM slippage, chatter, etc.
Good luck!
