Hi,
My engine has been running very hot lately and Ive noticed that the Fan isn't coming On. I only have One Fan and it's controlled by the Computer and not a Thermal Switch on the Left Head. I went ahead and ordered the FAN Relay rebuild Kit and some other goodies and they Just arrived... Well I started poking around the fan relay just inspecting it and Found that the Battery Lead to that Relay was broken off and exposed... I am assuming that is why it wasn't working yes? The Ignition lead and all others were still connected however...
I intended to disconnect the battery cable before doing any work on it but from just poking around I accidentally touched the broken battery lead wire before I knew it was broken and it grounded to something... I moved it quickly away but I think too late.... By the time I started working on it the Wire was dead and Now I have no power...
I looked for a fuse but cannot find one for that wire... There must be something somewhere but I just don't know where it is so I am kinda dead in the water until I figure out where the blown fuse or component is.
Any Ideas? I am ready to install my new relay but need power on this wire first before I can do so.

Fusible link on power wire to fan relay
On '86 possibly close to terminal on starter.
(Can't remember what year they went to getting power off the terminal block behind battery.85 was from starter / '87 was from terminal block)
Couple of questions - if anyone may know... What Amperage will that particular Wire be (Battery Lead into the Fan Relay) and where in the path of this wire is the Fusible Link?
where in the path of this wire is the Fusible Link?
Link is at supply end of wire
As noted you need to find out where your power comes from.
'87 FSM show fans ( main and aux ) direct from battery terminal ; everything else from the terminal block
Fusible link to main fan is labelled D
