The DIC assembly includes the switchpad to the left. To remove it, you have to remove the console trim and the a/c outlet above it. Then you can remove the trim panel that surrounds the DIC. To remove the shift ****, pry the button out and you will see the retainer inside, a snap ring for automatics and a wedge shaped pin for 6-speeds that is held by a setscrew just under the **** on the rear side of the lever.
