'93 owners - wondering if you have a 700R4 (4L60) or a 4L60E?

Good pictures. According to David F. if you have a 93 vette auto, you got a 4L60 from the factory. The E version did not come out in the vettes until 94. IMO the confusion comes in as people are thinking 700R4 or 4L60E. They dont realize that somewhere along the line GM started calling the 700R4 the 4L60. The factory service manual refers to the 4L60 only, no 700r4 and no E version. The pictures you posted are great and of course I believe the key difference that could be picked up from them is the 93 has the TV cable going down to the transmission. The 94 and up (E version) does not use a TV cable. By the way, I sure wish my engine was that clean!!
4(four speed)L(longitudinal installation)60(max. torque capacity)E(electronic version)
for eample the FWD GTP tranny is a 4(four speed)T(transaxle installation)65(torque rating)E(electronic)
The old Th400 became the 4L80E. Cadillac Northstars have aspecially developed transaxle only found in those cars (high rpm capacity, Northstars shift at 6,500rpm, and different shift algorythms). They are called 4T80E
