Default A tpi question

I am running an early ( 85 or 86) Tuned Port on my 1969 corvette.
It is being controlled by an obsolete Accel unit.
I am unhappy with the controller but love the tuned port.
Can anyone recommend something to run this unit that won't break the bank?
Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Try a painless wiring kit and a factory computer for that year.

Upgrade to the later MAP TPI setup.
No need for the MAF sensor on intake, can run a K&N style filter directly on TB.
Aftermarket harness ,1/2 the price of a Painless one
http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/1990-...item2c56f55b3f

MAP 1227730 computers (90-92 Camaro /Firebird )
$50 -$100 on 3rd Gen Parts

Obviously will need chip with custom tune
$150 from PCM forLess or similar
or someone to burn a chip for you

Could also use MAF TPI setup ('165 computer ) but harnesses more expensive.Computers similar price

Is it new enough to have spark control? If so what do you not like about it? Is it a tune up problem or could it be a bad sensor?

A map system is a pain in the neck.Any change you make to your motor you will need to change your tune in your chip.A maf set up will learn and compensate for changes in your motor, exhaust, or intake. Why do you think chevy went back to useing a Maf system on there cars?

I guess I should have phrased it this way...
I am taking all the electronics off of my TPI.
How would you and what would you use to make the system work that would be reliable and have the ability to compensate for a bigger cam, and such.
again, I love the tpi and folks say it will be better performance and fuel consumption than a carb, but I need a direction on what to use.
A am scrapping my entire Accel unit, it is garbage.
Thanks!
