Shoot I'd have to look at old receipts, IIRC it was around $50 each at O'Riley.
New ones had thread sealant on them, didn't need to add anything to them.
I used the open end of a combination wrench to pull them out.
IIRC it was 7 or 8 mm for the bolts holding the shields on.
Do them one at a time with a pan to catch the coolant.
After I replaced them I have not seen the intermittent Knock sensor code I was getting.
Did you check to make sure the wire is connected good?
I plan to put it up on the Race Ramps this weekend and inspect the wiring before I buy parts. Also several other things to repair.

I am figuring that mine are the originals from 1994. The engine has been out of the car at least twice, that I know of. Who knows what has happened to these sensors over the years. If the wiring checks out I may go ahead and replace as preventative medicine.
Also, try to nail the torque setting. Some guys tend not to pay attention to that saying all they do is screw it/them on. My thinking is 'why introduce an unknown variable'.

Torque 'em to spec; you'll sleep better, LOL

Jakes right on this, I have heard many storys of knock sensors either not working, or not working properly if there not torqued to spec..WW
