My 96 coupe is just about to turn 100,000 miles. For the past year I've been hearing a metallic click sound from the right front when I hit small imperfections in the road (like an expansion joint) at slow speeds. Since I had almost 100,000 miles, I changed the shocks (replaced the original Bilsteins with new ones). The vette rides better but I still have the metallic click (sounds like a tap on a hollow tube).
Any suggestions on what to look for?
Thanks for any assistance.

Sounds like a noise I have on my car, probably a ball joint
Someone didn't get the brake shoe clip in place....
Just check the pads.
From what you describe, this seems the most likely. There's anti rattle clips that you need to buy that go on the bottom of each pads. If they're installed incorrectly, worn out, or missing, the calipers knock around a little.
Take the wheels of (or if you have non-stock rims that allow you to stick you hand through) and grab the brake calipers. If they move around more than a minuscule amount(up, down, left, right), replace the anti rattle clips. Pepboys carries them. about $12 for a kit that contains both sides and the retaining pins/e-clips. "Brake caliper hardware kit"
