Recently (last two weekes) i notice that when i pull the hood release the passenger side doesn't relase it's stck. The cable and everything is fine but the hood closes improperly on the vehicle. In order to open the hood i have to reach over and pull on the hood while pulling the release lever to get it stanted. Then exit the car and raise the hood the rest of the way. Now that i look at it i notice that when i close the hood it shuts super tight on the drivers side but on the passenger side you can tell it's off because abouve the body molding where it says cross-fire injection the hood doesn't close down on that piece of molding. It stays shut a good 1/4-1/2 inch above expsing part of the bottom piece. What on earth would cause this. I haven't hit anything or done anything different. Has my hood shifted?? Any input is appreciated.
Thanks,
Bob
Re: why would hood not sut the same + get stuck (bogus)
cables and hinges are all lubed and move freely with the lever. The operation works flawlessly. The problem i am having is that for some reason my hood is not sutting level. The drivers side coms down and seats properly but the passenger side like i said after slosing the hood is 1/4-1/2 inch abouve the black body molding that says crossfire injection than it should be. This is a new condition. What would cause this and/or how can i correct it. There is defitely no problem with cables, lever, lurication etc. I can have somesit in the car while i look at the calbles and attaching holes all day and hever them pull the lever and see that it works properly. It seems to be the hood alignment. Any ideas??

Alignment pins are screwed in tight and straight as an arrow. What do you mean by hood stops?? As far as i can see (and i've looked at it in detail) everthing is correct except the hood alingment. What would cause this to go out of whack and how can it be fixed. I am very perplexed.
Re: why would hood not sut the same + get stuck (robertpel9)
There needs to be a stop on either side (it may be in length of those two alignment pegs in the hood) that sets hood height when closed. Sounds like that stop has come loose or out of adjustment. This is what is giving the 1/4-1/2" height difference and causing binding on one side.
Let me look at my hood latch setup and get back to you later on this.
Re: why would hood not sut the same + get stuck (robertpel9)
OK i just went out into the work parking lot and popped my hood (well Lifted on it while i released the lever. Nothing and i mean nothing is loose, broken, not lubricated, etc. The posts that go into the car with the springs around them are tight. The alignment pins are straight and solid. The cable and catch mecanism works whith the lever. How can a previously fine hood not shut right when all of this is in order. What about stuff at the very front of the car where the hood attached. I don't se anything odd there but something must be making this hood shut off center. PLEASE HELP!!
Re: why would hood not sut the same + get stuck (robertpel9)
I had a similar problem a few weeks ago when I dug my car out of the snow. I had washed it and it snowed amost immediately thereafter. I opened the hood to slide the snow off, and couldn't get it closed afterwards. The 'socket' where the pin on the driver's side sits was full of ice way down inside and would not allow that side to seat. I had to chip it out. Make sure there's no debris down that hole, the point of the pin reaches farther in there than you might think.
Re: why would hood not sut the same + get stuck (rocketfinger)
It's all fixed. Thanks for the advice you were right. While the pint with the spring on it was stuck i got it free and tighened it all the way down. I adjusted both sides and now the hood fits and opes perfectly. This forum is so helpful, thanks again.
