Help. I replaced my distributor and water pump on my 1993 corvette. I tested the engine by starting engine before water pump installation, engine started. After installing the new serpentine belt, engine did not start, I removed the serpentine belt and the engine started.:
Update the engine has nothing to do with the engine not starting. But, i'm still having trouble with my engine. The engine starts when it's cool but dies less than two minutes later.

Your engine does not require a belt to operate. The belt only drives the accessories... alt, pwr str, etc.. The water pump is engine driven.
Check for a loose electrical connection.
You must've knocked something loose or something. Even if an accessory was 100% seized, it wouldn't stop the engine from starting. The belt would either slip or snap, but I couldn't imagine it being strong than the torque of the starter.
