92 6 speed. When I bring the rpm's past 4000, I get a stalling, jumping or hesitation. It does it in all gears. What gives???

But the car runs absolutely perfect if you keep it under 4000!

help!!

Might be fuel related too. Install a fuel pressure gauge and see what kind of pressure you have at that 4000 rpm mark.

Are you sure you're not accidentally hitting the clutch?

The C4's cockpit is quite a bit more cramped than most other cars and It'd be relatively easy to accidentally hit the clutch. I've done it once or twice (when I first got it) and it makes the car buck and surge.

What do you mean "flushed"? Were they tested or did you simply spray brake cleaner on them or what?

Check the wires and distributor cap. Take the cap out and see if you see boogers hanging on the terminals. Also, at night, spray a light mist AROUND, not at, the wires and see if you get a light show. Obviously, it must be done in total darkness.

I have the same car and the same problem except I have the Delteq kit on. I started with ignition items (ignition module, and one coil) then started recording data from the ECM with TunerPro RT. I see definite knock retard timing when this happens. It also starts to happen at lower engine speeds after it happens for the first time.

I re-routed all my wires so they are not touching and replaced the spark plugs. The problem was still there after the plug change but the car runs better than before. I ran it again tonight (recording with Datamaster) and the problem has almost gone away entirely. Almost no knock retard timing pulled. Maybe the plugs fixed it and the ECU needs cleared.

How many miles do you have on your 92? I have over 172k on mine and I am suspecting a knock sensor problem but I am getting no codes.
