L82 Cam set up
Balanced stock crank, rods and stock bore Speed Pro Hypereutectic pistons(crank turned 10thousandths)
Heads have stock valves, springs, push rods and Comp Cams 1.6 Roller Tip rockers
L82 Cam and believe the specs to be 224/224 @ .050 .450/.460 114 LS
Yanked the CFI and ECM and it now has an Edelbrock Performer (egr blocked off) and Quadrajet 750
Mallory vacuum advance distributor with MSD coil and OEM wires
Hedman Headers (not 100% on brand) with true 2.5" duals, x-pipe and about 22" chambered pipes from Power Sticks(flea bay specials)

Is the cam and this set up a good mate with the stock auto tranny and 3.08's and is it pretty suitable for pretty much EVERY DAY driving?
I asked a service tech at Big M Chevrolet the same question while I was there getting my teflon washers (rear bearings and u-joints over week end) and he said with that cam and 1.6 rockers I MAY have some clearance issues and MAY have to go with 1.5's or 1.52's and also said he'd put a converter lock up kit on it along with a B&M Stage 1 shift kit. I wasn't sure if he was b-s-ing me into buying more stuff from them so I wanted to check with yall first. Any info would be much appreciated
Its similar to the old 350hp GM cam, bit of a lazy ramp but should have a broad powerband and be easy on valvetrain parts .
An Isky 270 Mega cam would really wake the car up compared to the GM cam being as its carbureted.
A set of stamped 1.6 roller tip rockers may require the drip tabs trimmed on the inside of the cover
Just tossing it out there.
