GMPP offers a couple different LT4 Hot Cam packages. You can get cam, rockers, and springs for about 500.00, or get cam, rockers, lt4 heads, and intake plenum for about 2100.00. My question is, are the Lt4 heads and plenum any different than the LT1 heads and plenum performance wise. Thanks!
Yes there is significant difference. The LT4 is underrated by the factory at 330 HP...mainly because the new LS1 was only to be rated at 345HP and they didn't want the 96 sitting around with an advertised 360HP on it.
LT4 has 2.00 int, 1.55 exh sodium filled valves, liteweight retainers, 1.6 roller rockers, stiffer springs, higher port design. This eliminated the EGR system as well. Cam was bigger in the block, compression was higher, crank was more machined...and the list goes on. There is a story on the differences between LT1 and LT4....others may know the link to it. :seeya
