I have a 96 CE that suffered an engine failure, i was wondering if i could swap in an Engine from a 93 vette?...i know i have an 4l60e tranny and the 93 has an 700r4, would i require some kind of conversion kit to match it up with my tranny?

Transmission bolts right up.
Electonically is where you will have some changes to make. For instance, the '96 has a crankshaft position sensor, the Opti harness is slightly different, etc. However, all that is easy enough to swap while the new engine is on the stand.
The piping for the fuel rail is different on the '93 as well. The tube across the rails is behind them on the older LTx cars, it's across the top of the intake in the front on the '94+ cars.

Reason: stupid mistake

I believe he is talking about the "Steam Tube" that connects to the back of the heads with banjo bolts / washers.
That's what's confusing. The vent tube on the 96 Vette runs behind the heads but he's saying "it's across the top of the intake in the front on the '94+ cars".

Wait for a 95 or 96,you will find one for about the same price.
Are you looking at the one for 1600 bucks engine and trans 106 k on it?
On the 92-94 cars they bolt to the same spot on the back of the heads then continue on a short distance towards the passenger side of the car. On the newer cars they connect to the back of the heads then come up and run at the base of the intake manifold on the passenger side of the car.
Anyway I bought my repo unit off of ebay, the are costly however the quality is good and it comes complete with bolts / sealing washers.

Sorry gents, I was mixing my methaphors. I was referring to the fuel rail connection line, not the steam tube. Fixed above posts.
