Default groaning noise?

hey guys, i have a 1993 corvette, 95k miles, automatic, when i back up out of my drive way about 30ft i hear a groaning noise for about 3 seconds, then it stops, it will go away if i drive really slowly backing up, but when i put it into drive and take off, it will still happen. seems like its coming from the rear. the car drives fine and shifts fine, dont know what it could be?

let me know!

thanks.

My 93 does that too and I used to worry, but it's the ABS going through it's start up routine when you hit 3 mph. Only does it when you first start. Is that correct?

Yuppers. It's the ABS pump going through it's diagnostic cycle upon start up and reverse. Perfectly normal and nothing to worry about.
