Default Differences between 92 and 95?

Are there any differences between a 92 and a 95? I had the 92 just purchased a 95. I know they are both LT1s. But the 95 just drives so much better.

Having owned both.

Basically the dash letters are different colered. The dash pad in the '95 is smoother. The '95 opti is updated to a vented style. The '95 springs were softened and the shock valving was also adjusted. The '95 also got a revised cam that put out about 5 more ft. lbs of torque. Exterior changes were minor on the '95 with different side vents, machined looking wheels opposed to painted on '92. Also, the base suspension had 8.5" width rims on the '95.

That about covers it from what I can remember.

The 95 is supposed to have about 200 quality related mods to the body etc. The computer is MAF with sequential fuel injection which adds 5 or 10 ft - lbs of torque and lower emissions.

The intake manifold bolts are probably tighter on the 95 which will make throttle response better. I would suggest to anyone with an LT1 to get the intake manifold bolts reqtorqued ever two years because they loosen due to thermal cycling of the engine. The throttlebody bolts also get loose. Car runs much better with no vacuum leaks.

Thanks for the info. I was wondering why it was a smoother ride with better response.

There were many (!) changes. The biggest was that only the 92 and 93 had a batch injection system. The 94s and up had sequential FI. Also every year there were inprovements to the 4L60 tranny. the 92s and 93s have the non-electronic 4L60. All 94 and up have the 4L60E electronic tranny. A really good information source for all the little changes is the corvette black book, which is also realtively cheap ($12-14 or so)
