Some of the late blocks may not have a provision for mechanical fuel pump not that youd need one.
Stock L98 rods are nothing special and from 89-91 GM made them thinner. Powedered metal are a step better. If youre not using the TPI and really going to beat on it perhaps pick a better aftermarket rod but mos the time a decent GM rod will work fine. use a good rod bolt and balance job
