I sure it not much diffrent than my 86.

Drain the R12, new Dryer I put a new Orfice filter init you have it apart I heard yes and no about there is a diffrence in O-Rings then again if you have it apart mite as well put new O-Rings in it anyways This way you know that there good.

A lot of Aut Parts stores sell a conversion kit but you can put one together for cheeper just buy the fittings O-Rings ($7.00) and ECT.

I also heard you can use the same Dryer but I would not, $30.00 for a dryer that you know it good or take a chance the ($70.00) A/C charge will be good with the old Dryer.

Just shop around for a dryer you can find them for ($30.00) or less.

Get the new R134 fittings for the dryer ($10.00) add the Compresser OIL for R134($5.00).

I had to put a new compresser on mine it was bad anyways.

Have it vacummed and chargered with R134.

As for installing the Conversion Kit it is not hard at all.

But you have to have it Vacummed and Charged buy a Shop.

Why not use the new stuff Freeze 12? I hear it's better than R134.

R134 does just fine. I would find an alternative to the low side pressure port adapter. After I installed the supplied one with the autozone kit. It rubbed on the radiator hose. You can get different adapters. There is a 90* one that I bought but have not installed yet. I just charged the system and pulled the old fitting off so it didn't rub the hose. It is not necessary to change anything other than the fittings. There are several bulletins that GM has put out about the retrofit.
