Tach problem with 90
The tach on my 90 continually jumps from 0 to pegging out. I have seen plenty of posts about the differerent reasons for this happenening but have never actually seen a post by anyone that has fixed the problem. Has anyone been able to actually repair this problem ??? If so how ??
Thanks
Steve

Re: Tach problem with 90 (sm90)
I have the same problem with my 94. I have posted the problem previously and the only answer that I got was to replace the tachometer. So recently I purchased an auto Meter tach.

You haven't added and MSD ignition have you? That is a sympton of the Tach filter on an aftermarket ignition...

Re: Tach problem with 90 (ralexand)
My 90 HAD the same problem. I found out it had a tach filter that was not grounded. When the clutch was replaced (right before I got the car) they didn't bolt the filter to the bell housing. After I grounded it all was well. I also had a schematic for the filter emailed to me. I still have it if you'd like email me and I will send it to you. Very simple and fairly easy to make.

Re: Tach problem with 90 (90_roadster)
The ignition is standard.
I the filter is fixed to the engine block. I even tried to totally by-pass it, this made no difference.
Thanks for the suggestions.... any others would be appreciated !!
