Lighting Problem
I have come across an odd phenomenon in my 92 coupe...
The passenger seat electronic adjustment "surrounding light"
will stay on when the lights are off in the vehicle.
also, I noticed when i shifted the automatic transmission into first gear
( i had to slam the stick to get it to engage - dont know if thats something wrong with the linkage or something)
but when i got it to engage to the position, the driver's side seat adjustment "surrounding light" and the gear display illumination went out.
i pulled apart the area (screws in the center console and under the cupholders and driver's side tranny hump
and everything seemed to be making connection, all the plugs were in... didnt see any torn wires.
any input on this?

A GM manual will show the schematic for that light circuit and may have a diagnosis for light problems (I doubt it). Looking at the schematic and an understanding of electric circuits should give you some ideas as to what is keeping the light on. I would like to offer some suggestions, but I don't have a manual for that year.
