After 200000 miles I had a huge paper bag of reciepts for my C3. I was afraid to add them up so I trashed them when I sold the car. If I added brakes, tires, oil, tune ups, mods and appearance crap, the numbers on this one would be crazy. The only thing that that would keep the total investment down, is the $10k Allstate gave me when I crashed it in 03.

Wow thats a lot. Reading your threads I know, that has to be mostly mods and not maintenance. You would probably freak out if you added up the $$$$$$$.

I have nearly everything written down for this car. It would have been a long post had I included tires and maintenance. Would have been around 33 oil changes. Maybe 7 sets of tires.

Wow, you could be in deep trouble. My ex just made sure that for every $ I spent on the Vette, she spent 2$ at the Vet. She now lives by herself with 4 dogs and 5 cats.

I added up my resto costs on my 64 impala when I got done. Kind of shocked me. Now I just keep the receipts in an envelope for my other cars.

I do all my own work and always wheeling and dealing.
BTW that does not include the cost of the car.

Thats what I was thinking. Its just that I know how quickly the $$$$ adds up. $1000 intake, $1000 exhaust, $1500 heads, $300 cam, $$$ fuel pump, $$$ regulater, and damn havent even touched the shortblock yet. Can you imagine paying labor on all that ? If I did, I'd be walking. Like I said, you have done well to keep it at $5000. Last time I figured, paint, bodywork and mods over a 12 year period it was over $10k. That stuff is not even on my list. It never ends for me.
