Default Throttle Body question.

With the TB off the car it work fine. With it on it get stuck open. I remove one item off it and had everything off and it still get stuck. The cable lines are not holding it open. Can it be that my TB maybe getting twisted as I install it and that why it getting stuck?

I been working on this all year and this TB is brand new bbk 58mm TB.

You could try loosening the bolts slightly and see if it still sticks.

The throttle blades on the new TB are bigger than the stock ones. The holes in the plenum need to be opened up a bit...remove the plenum and grind the holes to 58mm or slightly larger and you'll be good to go. Inspect the throttle blades closely to make sure you haven't damaged them from binding them up in the plenum.....funny the things TB manufacturers sometimes "forget" to mention when they sell you a (upgraded) part.

As Paul mentioned, if the 4 bolts are tightened too tight, the housing can warp and bind the shaft and blades. Try loosening the bolts 1/2 turn.

That's probably why it's good to use a torque wrench when tightening bolts.

I just tried loosening them as much as I dare on mine, but I still have the same problem. Mine only gets stuck open when the engine is running. As Blame said, I had all the cables off mine aswell, the only difference is mine only happens when the engine is running.

I took the whole intake with TB on it off and it work like it should. This is why I believe it could be a vac line.
