On the hottest of California days I can idle my 90 for like 2 hours and it cranks over every time with this style starter.
I am using an original ( 100K ) '89 Denso unit on my 12:1 383 and with a decent tune it will fire up without the engine cranking over ; even on a hot engine bumping up the line in the staging lanes on a hot day.

Well I am happy to say it started without any twisted metallic sound etc. As it just wasn't possible to check the clearance between the gear drive and the flywheel I just closed my eyes and cranked it.
Lets hope it lives up to its $280 Aus pricetag. Who said C4s are a cheap sports car?
PS: My meantime between failure in the last 6 months is about 1 day! What next?
