Default Traction Control

i have the obd-ii lt1_edit for my '96 LT-4. turning the traction control system off in the ecu doesn't seem to have any effect. (it's still always on by default.) am i missing something?

thanks.

A couple of features of Lt1 Edit are generic to all cars. I don't believe that the Traction Control (on/off) settings does anything. Similiar to the Anti-Theft function does not do anything.

I do believe that the timing retard for ASR can be changed however.

ah, ok, thanks.

but, the asr also backs off the throttle, right? so getting rid of the timing retard wouldn't really stop it, right? does it also use the brakes?

Sorry using Traction control and ASR as the same thing.

You can modify the timing retard for the ASR but there are other components that can't be changed. I know that brakes are also applied.

I've been told this is why I can't program my traction control as a launch control for the drag strip.
