Default C4 Upper Front Control Arms

Is there a difference between the '80's and '90's upper control arms for the front suspension?

The reason I'm asking is because I have a new Mongoose Grand Sport replica: http://www.theoldone.com/grandsport/...grandsport.htm.
There are already a number of pieces on the car that I have fabricated in an effort to make it (closer) to the original cars in appearance.
The next item on my list is narrowing the car's front tread-width a couple inches to get more of the front tire under the fender flares. I will either build some fixtures and fabricate some upper and lower control arms to do the trick, or move the mounting points for the control arms farther inboard.
In looking at some adjustable upper control arms, I noticed that there was a difference between the early and late ones. I'm thinking that if the early ones are shorter, I might be able to swap in a pair and avoid the fabrication work.
My next question would be about the lower arms....are the early ones shorter than the late ones?
Obviously, if I can simply purchase a set of the earlier pieces, it would save me time and work.
I appreciate all the help I've already received on these forums. With my limited experience with Corvettes, the advice has been priceless.

lower spindle upper are all different. the later have taller spindles which is better IMO. later are about 3/8 wider or so. What frame are you using?? To narrow suspension takes more than just moving mounting points. You need to kno where to place them!

The chassis is the Mongoose 4" tubular unit that's standard issue in their Grand Sports.
I have access to a surface plate for mounting the chassis and measuring all relavent suspension pick-up points. We also have equipment for measuring bump-steer, so I'm fairly confident that we can maintain the current roll-centers with the mods.
If I don't rework the suspension to narrow the tread width, the other option I've considered is to CNC some wheels from billet with a different offset that have the Halibrand look....but then I'll need to do a matching set for the rear as well....

I would like to move the wheel/tire inboard by approximately one inch per side, so the wheel center would need to come outward relative to the rim itself. The brakes are currently late-model C4's.
