Default What is this wire?

Hi,

In my 90 i had a switch on the dash which previous owner had done! no idea what it was for! anyway i took out under dash cover and metal frame as i was looking for a place to install wires through to manually turn on my Fans! long story short i followed the dash switch wires and one is earth and the other went to a grey wire on a relay!
My question is what is the grey wire for? The relay is located under the dash closest to the gauges etc and the relay on the left! there are 2 two relays!
the other one has a few orange wires going to it!

Any help would be appreciated!
I rejoined the grey wire back to it's original way as the switch did nothing that i could tell anyway!

You are going to need a wiring schematic for your year of car. The FSM will have that along with a section that shows the location of each electrical component.

Damn, i wondered why the flux capacitor wasn't kicking in!!

Hmmm i should have taken a pic while the metal cover was off! i have bolted it back on! i still may be able to snap a pic tho!

I don't have a FSM and doubt it would be likely to get one in Australia, unless lucky enough to be on ebay! :S

I am guessing it was an attempt at controlling the twin fans!
