'85 c4 electrical problem
found a 1985 corvette with 10,000 original miles. clean. my aunt loves it and is going to buy it as soon as it comes back from mechanic. the car is all original, been sitting on a carpet in a garage since '03. the speedo, tach, and overdrive light do not light up. just waiting for mechanic to figure it out. anybody experience this before? any suggestions?

Tach gets pulses from the distributor and the spedo gets pulses from the sender on the transmission. The first thing to do is see if those pulses exist. if so, then the cluster needs to be sent out for repair.

It will cost you about $200 to refurbish your dash display unit.
