I have been searching the internet and can not find a definite answer to my question so maybe someone here will know. I need to replace all the brake hardlines on my 89 and was wondering if I could you Stainless Braided Lines on the entire car? I was leaning towards no but after reading it seems like some do.
My brake hardlines a rotted out and need to be replaced
I would get a regular steel line and be done with it. Do you know how much something like that would cost to do? Just 4 short lines and it is over $100 from the cheapest place. Not worth it, IMO.
Soft lines that are that long will leave you with a soft pedal they will expand to some degree but are needed when the wheel has to move relative to the chassis.
Individual "hard" lines can be replaced with a little effort. Many auto supply stores carry assorted lengths of these lines with fittings already in place.
But you need to be able to bend the lines properly so that they fit and in some cases, longer lines will have to be shortened. You need to be familiar with how to make "double-flare" ends using a flaring tool.
I would recommend having this type of work done by a reputable auto repair facility that has somebody that is experienced in making up brake lines.

You can have stainless hard lines installed, but you have to find someone who has the capability to flare stainless lines which requires a special flare tool. I certainly would NOT install flex hoses in place of hard lines. If you need bulk stainless line I can help.
