I purchased a 1987 corvette recently and I just got her running. A couple of wires must not be connected because my headlights do not work at all. They dont try to open up, the bulbs dont even light up. I connected everything in the coolant overflow tank area and the canister area across from it. Could somebody tell me where the wires that control these run. The motor was pulled from the car by the previous owner and "rebuilt" apparently so a lot of electrical stuff does not work.
What will be the very best thing you can do for yourself is to buy the GM service manual including the electrical diagnosis service manual. The electrical manual has a description of each system, circuit diagrams, troubleshooting information, location of parts and drawings of the locations. What you are asking for here would require copying the headlight section of the manual and it looks like you are going to have a lot more questions before you get that 87 straightened out. The two books will be the best money you will ever spend on the 87!

Thanks,
i actually already have the electrical diagnosis service manual. I was just hoping somebody could tell me off hand but i guess i will have to take a look. I dont know much about reading electrical diagrams but I guess I will have to figure it out.
Look at the electrical book, the diagrams are easy to follow and all of the wiring splices and grounds are called out and their locations identified. I am sure you are going to find the manual to be an excellent help.
