I have a '91 with an L98 and I've noticed a bit of shimmy from what feels like the rear end when I accelerate lightly from 55-65 mph. I can mash the gas and it goes away but from 1/4 to 1/2 throttle it feels pretty shaky. When I hit about 70 it goes away and everything is normal so I'm pretty stumped and any help would be great.

Have you had your tires balanced. Alignment and balance should be done approximately every 12K.

Check all the Suspension Bushings for cracks and deterioration. Also, check the wheel hub assemblys for play.

Could be converter not disengauging soon enough causing extra load on engine. Try shifting from od to drive and see if it goes away. Iv seen this a lot. If you are describing what I am thinking.

That would be more of a shudder not a shimmy. Just changing the fluid and filter cured this on my DD.
