Default remanufactured ecm chip problem?

Hello guys, I have a 1990 198 that i am trying to burn the chip on. My VATS is freaking out, and i have enough mods to justify tuning it. I work at a speed shop and we have all the proper equipment, my problem is this...My car appears to have a remanufactured computer installed and it seems the chip is soldered into the holder than connects into the ecm. Has anybody had experience with this before? I fear it may not be possible and i will just have to buy an actual chip or have to try and locate an oem computer.

Any thoughts on the subject would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks,
Zack

I am not sure what you are describing. The chip is soldered into the memcal and the memcal snaps into the computer. You need to buy and adapter that allows you to use the memcal and aftermarket chip.

Thanks guys i got my initial problem solved, look like they got hot glue on the memcal and it was just difficult to get out. I ordered the proper adapters and should be all set.

Thanks,
Zack
