I always had good luck with the Rapidfires in my old car. If everything is running properly it's not uncommon to get 30k + miles from the plugs. What you need to do is just pull one and see if it worn badly. If everything still looks fine you should be fine with simply regapping the current plugs. However, since you would have to pull every plug out to do this, you might as well replace them in the process. I have been impressed with NGK plugs, the TR55 is perfect for the LT1. They look very nice and you can tell they are well made. I've heard some people around here say they have problems with them, but I've never personally seen it. Everybody I know locally runs these plugs and has no trouble at all. You can usually get the whole set for less than $16.
Autolite actually makes a very good plug. For the LT1, it's an Autolite #606, very cost effective good quality plug. You can't go wrong with plain old AC Delco plugs (non platinum) and the rapidfires seem to do a good job as well. Some people claim a "cut back" stock plug is your best bet. Personally I'll keep the longer plug life rather than cut them back just because it's a PITA to change them.
The only recurring theme in spark plugs seems to be to stay away from the junk gimmick plugs. Splitfire, Bosh +4's etc.
